As reported on the Minnesota State University (Mankato) Web site, Minnesota State freshman second baseman Katie Reed hit three home runs in the North Central Conference Tournament Friday, May 5. Reed became just the sixth player in the history of the tournament to hit three home runs over the course of the event. Reed had only hit one home run for the season before her display of power at the conference tournament.

Reed, from Center City, is a 2005 graduate of Chisago Lakes High School.
