Benilde-St. Margaret’s 6, NB 0

The Vikings struggled early against number-one ranked Benilde St. Margaret's Tuesday, October 3 as the Red Knights scored five times in the first half on their way to a 6-1 victory over the Vikings at North Branch.

Said Vikings head coach Brad Gustafson, “We played better the second half thanks, in part, to our keeper, freshman Austin Holmes, really stepping up and making some great saves.  Holding a state powerhouse to one goal in a half is something to be proud of.  As a team, we worked to possess the ball more the second half and that meant that Benilde wasn't on the attack as much.”

Irondale 4, North Branch 1

The Vikings (3-11-0 overall, 1-9-0 conference) closed out the conference season with a 4-1 home loss to the Irondale Knights Thursday, October 5.

The Vikings were scheduled to host section opponent Agricultural and Food Sciences Academy Monday, October 9 to finish out the regular season

SECTION PREVIEW

The Vikings got the tenth seed in the upcoming Section 3A playoffs. In the first round, they’ll play seventh-seeded New Life Academy of Woodbury (8-7-1 overall, 4-4-1 in the Minnesota Christian Athletic Association conference) in Woodbury today, Thursday, October 12, at 4 p.m. The winner of that game will go on to play second-seeded and fourth-ranked Mahtomedi in the quarterfinals this Saturday, October 14 at 4 p.m. at Mahtomedi.
