The Chisago Lakes volleyball team split two four-game NSC matches recently.

Tuesday, October 5, the Wildcats won at Fridley 25-15, 25-20, 19-25 and 25-19. “Sarah Reese had an all-around terrific match,” said CL head coach Nicole DeVries.  “She really picked up the pieces for us when we started to slip.  Sarah was aggressive and showed a lot of heart.”

The Wildcats entertained the Irondale Knights Thursday October, 5. The Knights came out on top   25-27, 21-25, 25-15 and 11-15. “We played tight,” DeVries explained. “We just couldn’t relax and do what we normally do. We’re taking it in stride and using the loss as well as our past losses and wins to help us prepare for the section tournament.”

It was senior night and the team honored Morgan Baumgard, Jess Peterson, Mel Lewis, Kayla Schultz, Jaime Tschida, Cortney Bourgoin and Kristen Tengwall for their contributions to the program.

“We thanked and honored our seniors with their last conference home match,” added DeVries. “I have an amazing group of seniors this year and am proud to have them in our program. I just want them to be recognized for their outstanding leadership, their tenacity, strong work ethic and super attitudes.  We will miss them a lot next season!”

The Wildcats complete their conference schedule at Totino-Grace tonight (October 12) before traveling to play in the Sartell-St. Stephen Tournament October 19.
