A local resident and homebuilder is pitching in to help a deserving family get a new home, and a few familiar faces will be helping out along the way.

Jesse Moxness, owner of MSJ Homes, is one of two contractors selected to build a new home for the Swenson-Lee family in Minnetonka, which will be featured on the popular ABC show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

According to Moxness's sister, Laura Haseltine of Forest Lake, the construction company was instructed to keep the home makeover location a secret until the arrival of the ABC "design team" Tuesday morning - led by Ty Pennington.

Once the official "door knock" came around 8:30 a.m. Aug. 21, the crews went to work and information about the family receiving the new home was made public.

The home belongs to Erik and Vicki Swenson, two teachers and coaches who have adopted their four nieces and nephews to become a family of nine crowded into a three-bedroom Minnetonka home.

Swenson is the sister of murder victim Teri Lee, who was killed last September by her estranged ex-boyfriend. Lee left behind four children, now ages 6 to 12.

The Swensons took in the children, adding four siblings for their three daughters - a 10-year-old and 18-month-old twins. Vicki is also pregnant with the couple's fourth daughter, so the family will hit double digits with 10 members in November.

Haseltine said her brother is excited and ready for the hectic week ahead. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's catch is that the projects are all done within one week - not a small task, considering they will be more than doubling the size of the house, from 2,300 square feet to 5,600 square feet.

Haseltine plans on lending a helping hand to her brother, spending several days on the job site toward the end of the week.
