In the first half the full court pressure forced 17 turnovers and gave the Bluejackets a 27-19 halftime lead. With that pressure, came fouls and trips to the freethrow line for the 'Cats. But, CL was only four of eight from the line in the first half, and as Wildcat head coach Craig walker put it, "fifty percent from the line is not going to get it done for us to be competitive."
Things didn't get any better in the second half and and CL finished with 31 turnovers and shot only 13 of 30 from the free throw line for the game. "We weren't really into the game mentally today and that's my fault," Walker said. "We have the athletes to compete night after night, we just need to work hard to improve our skills and focus every time out on the court.
"We're getting to the line like I'd like, but we're still not capitalizing consistently. As for the turnovers, we need to recognize situations better and make better decisions with the basketball. At times we try to do too much and end up forcing a pass or getting ourselves into trouble. But, things are definitely fixable," Walker commented
