Harold A. Lundin was born Jan. 19, 1921, at Bethesda Hospital, in St. Paul. He and his brother, Roland, were reared at 1192 Earl Street by parents, Elof and Josephine. They attended Farnsworth Elementary on the east side.

As a teen, Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father. He also enjoyed times spent at the cottage on Forest Lake, which his parents owned for 40 years. He had many friends who shared hobbies, including a club they called "The Stooges," which he belonged to many years.

He graduated from Johnson High School, met his wife, Rosella, and after a three year courtship they married in 1941.

Harold enlisted in the Navy in 1942. He was stationed at the Minneapolis Naval Air Station for two years, then shipped to Saipan in the South Pacific for 1-1/2 years. He and Rosella had three daughters.

Harold helped build and open a family business with his dad and brother called "Lundin's Super Market" on Rice and Front Streets, in St. Paul. He loved to travel and took many trips with his family. He worked as a meat cutter until 1959, when he moved his family to California as Rosella's health was failing. After two years he brought her back to the Sister Kenny Institute, in Minnesota.

He worked as a meat cutter and cared for his wife for 15 years until her death in 1975.

In 1978 he remarried. He met Bernice Lyons while working at Hoves in Har Mar. They retired to Lakeshore Terrace, in Lindstrom, in 1983, where he enjoyed fishing and being a member of the Forest Lake VFW. Due to declining health, they moved to Parmly Residence this past fall.

Harold was truly a family man, a devoted husband, an excellent provider, loving father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

Funeral services are Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the Margaret S. Parmly Chapel, in Chisago City. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Garden, in Mahtomedi. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home.
