Chisago Lakes alpine ski team finishes season 7-0 after defeating Champlin Park
Monday January 22, the Wildcat boys slid past Centennial 32-23. Gus Garbe and Allen Nickelson finished second and third to lead the way for the 'Cats. Although the boys remained undefeated in dual meets, they won by the closest margin of the season.
The girls beat the Cougars 36-19. The Wildcats took four of the first five places in the meet. Sarah Bottjen beat Cougar skier Laura Mansell by .15 second to capture the individual win. Teammates Simone Raedeke, Katelyn Garbe and and Melinda Beyer took third fourth and fifth for CL-SCF.
Tuesday, January 23, the teams completed their dual-meet seasons with one-sided wins over Champlin Park. "It was an another impressive win," said Wildcat head coach Dan Raedeke. "The boys won 49-6 and girls 52-3. The boys are back on track after the problem they had on the course Monday night."
The girls led by Bottjen, again, swept the first eight positions in the win over the Rebels. Dan Sandgren and Dominick Raedeke led the Wildcat boys, who took the first four and 9 of 10 scoring positions in the meet.
With the regular season completed, the Wildcats are preparing for the section meet at Duluth's Spirit Mountain February 6.
