Bernice Medin, of Almelund, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at her home at the age of 73. She was born Bernice Charlotte Hall on May 23, 1933, to Henry and Ida Hall, in Franconia Township. She was baptized, confirmed and married at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, in Center City. March 22, 1953, she married Roger Lowell Medin.

She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Strandberg in Lindstrom. Roger and Bernice purchased his grandparent's (Danielson) farm in 1956 and made it a Century Farm and farmed it together for 52 years. Bernice raised three children and enjoyed volunteering on community events.

She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, quilting and doing good deeds for others. Her true passion was cooking, baking, and preparing for family gatherings and helping friends and neighbors in need. Every event and gathering focused on the food she would serve. Bernice won many awards through the Farm Bureau for her creative cooking skills.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Quentin and Wally Hall, and sister, Helen Hall Holt.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; children: Rhonda Kay (Pat) Newton, of Mahtomedi; Rorie (Bob) Chinnock, of Victoria; Robb (Sara) Medin, of Almelund; sister, Betty Lou Cederstrom; six grandchildren, one great-grandson, numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, in Center City. Interment at Almelund Cemetery. Lunch will be served at Immanuel Lutheran Church after the interment. Memorials suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
