The Wildcat gymnasts saved their best effort for when it really counted. CL's best team score of the year (131.600), put them in third place at the Section 7A Gymnastics Meet at Mahtomedi Friday, February 16.  "The girls performed extremely well and really had a solid meet," said Wildcat head coach Brett Kjos.

Wildcat Britni Harris qualified for the state meet on the vault (9.050), bars (8.600), beam (9.000) and the all-around competition (35.000). This will be Harris' third consecutive trip to state. "Britni placed the highest she ever has in the all-around competition (second).  She had a very solid meet," Kjos commented.

Teammate Andrea Olson qualified for her first trip to the state meet by winning the section competition with a 9.200 on the balance beam.  "She did a fantastic job," said Kjos. "She has been working so hard this season and it is really nice to see that all of that hard work paid off.  Our goal was to get her in the top four spots to qualify for state.  She did much better.  She won the whole event....Outstanding!"

Lindsay Carlson, Alex Thomsen, Cassie Schlegel and Ali Turnquist also competed in the Section Meet for the Wildcats.

Harris and Olson will compete in the State Gymnastics Meet Saturday, February 24 at the River Center in St. Paul.
