Coon Rapids 49, CL 16

Coon Rapids, ranked eighth in the state, pulled away after the first few matches and beat the Wildcats 49-13 to advance in the section tournament and end the Wildcats' dual meet season.

Mitch Anderson's win by major decision at 125 pulled the Wildcats within 7-9. But Coon Rapids won the next four matches to take a commanding 31-7 lead on its way to the victory.

"Our guys wrestled tough against a very good team," said Wildcat head coach Shawn Frederixon. "They had a couple of guys who were state champions last year and a couple other state entrants. Three of their wrestlers are ranked in the top ten in their respective weight classes. I'm proud of how we wrestled."

Anderson's win was the 100th of his career. 49 of those wins are by pin and he'll have a chance to get his 50th pin at the individual section tournament this weekend.
