Helgerson was a key member of an Augsburg men's golf program that showed tremendous growth during his four seasons. The Auggies finished fifth as a team in the MIAC championships each of his first two seasons, then finished third his junior year and second his senior season. Helgerson cut his stroke average nearly five points from his freshman to his senior campaigns, finishing with a career stroke average of 78.21 (81 rounds), including a team-best 75.83 this season. Helgerson earned All-MIAC honors with top-10 finishes in the league meet three times, finishing ninth his freshman and junior campaigns and seventh in his senior season.
Academically, Helgerson was an accounting and finance major with a 3.51 grade-point average. He earned Academic All-MIAC honors his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, and was a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar last season.
