Everett P. Eichten, of Lindstrom, died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at St. Croix Medical Center, at the age of 89.

Everett was born July 18, 1917, to John and Nettie Eichten at their home in Redwood County, Minn. He graduated from Lamberton High School in 1935. He met and married his wife, Mary Beert and they farmed near Wanda, Minn., before moving to a farm south of Lindstrom in 1951. In addition to farming, Everett worked in the construction industry as a hod carrier and then as a custodian in the Robbinsdale School District, for 17 years.

Everett is preceded in death by his parents; son, Peter Eichten; son-in-law, Timothy Garvey, six brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary; children: Lois (Eugene) Velaski, of Bloomington; Monica (Robert A.) Randall, of Center City; Sister Beatrice Eichten, OSF, of Little Falls; Rita Garvey, of Clearwater, FL; Phillip (Sharon) Eichten, of San Diego, CA; Pauline Eichten, of St. Paul, Shirley (Robert) Albrecht, of Sedona, AZ; Paul (Paula) Eichten, of Dell Rapids, SD; Linda (William) Richardson, of Poway, CA; Susan (Louis) Frykman, of Maple Grove; Daniel Eichten, of Chisago City; Douglas (Joye) Eichten, of Granton, WI; Audrey (Mark) Huettl, of Yuma, AZ; Patrick (Nancy) Eichten, of Lindstrom; Terrence (Angie) Eichten, of Minneapolis; sister, Janet (Frank) Hofmann, of Lindstrom; 30 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 22, at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church, in Lindstrom, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, in Lindstrom. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home.
