Chisago Lakes U13 soccer team earns first place in Oakdale tournament
The girls showed perseverance and stamina in the final game against NESA. Having already played two games in 90 degree heat Sunday, the Chisago girls dug up enough energy to win 2-0 in the finals.
Overall, the girls gave 110 percent effort and it really made the difference in the tournament. Coach Tinjum's number one goal is for the girls to have fun. This was a fun weekend and many memories were made! Way to go, girls!
Saturday, the girls beat White Bear Lake #1 3-1 and tied with St. Croix 0-0. Sunday, they beat White Bear Lake #2 7-0 and NESA 1-0. In a rematch with NESA, they won 2-0 in the final game.
In regular season league play, the girls are currently 6-1. They continue to show improvement each week and are looking forward to competing in the District Tournament in July. Hopefully the girls will play well in Districts and return to the State Tournament at the end of July. Keep up the hard work!
