Nick Ramberg and Jared Grams were double winners for the Viking boys and the 4x800 relay team took the other first for NB. Ramberg won the 1600 (4:30.95) and 800 1:59.38) and Grams swept the 100 (11.63) and the 200 (23.42). Aaron Cedergren, Zach Good, Cody Good and JJ Koerber teamed for the relay win in 8:18.12.
Sara Swanson was the top performer for the Viking girls, taking three seconds, and a third. Swanson was second in the 100 (13.19), 400 (1:00.57) and long jump (15-08.50) and third in the 200 (26.99). The 4x800 relay team (Brianna Berthiaume, Haley Hasleiet, Meg Johnson and Miranda Charley) established a new school mark by finishing in 10:10.80.
"We really had very good meets for both our girls' and boys' teams. We couldn't have done too much better. Our kids really did a nice job competing to the best of their ability," said North Branch head coach Brian Hasleiet. "The girls 4x800 relay team broke the school record. Also, Sara Swanson broke her own school record in the 400 for the second consecutive week.
"You have to give a lot of credit to the Grand Rapids girls and boys for how well they competed at this meet," Hasleiet added.
