The Chisago Lakes boys' golf team continued its fine play at the Cloquet Invitational, Monday, May 7. The Wildcats won the event with a score of 310 and CL senior Luke Angrimson was the medalist with a 75.

"It was great to have four scores in the 70's on this very tight course," said Wildcat head coach Perry Aadland. "We hadn't played here before and it was a good experience for our team."

CL at Spring Lake Park

Tuesday, May 8, the Wildcats kept their dual-meet schedule clean with a 142-159 win over Spring Lake Park at the National Youth Golf Course (Victory Links) in Blaine.

"We had our best round of the season at Victory Links," Aadland commented. "Our team score was two under par. We are looking forward to the conference finals at Pebble Creek."

CL 149, Irondale 182

Friday, May 11 the Wildcats continued their winning ways by defeating Irondale 149-182 at Victory Links. Scott Liebsch led the way with a 35.

The win kept CL in first place going into today's (Thursday, May 17) North Suburban Conference 18 hole final, 11-team meet.

The Chisago Lakes girls' golf team had a busy second week of May, competing in the Forest Lake Invitational at Forest Hills and playing two conference meets at Victory Links in Blaine.

Monday, May 7 the Wildcats took 12th out of 18 teams at the Forest Lake Invite with a team score of 417.

"I was pleased with the team. It wasn't our best, but they played well on a difficult course," said Wildcat coach Jeanne Hawkinson. "Sadie (Williamson) played her best round of the year to help the team."

Tuesday, May 8 the Wildcats played very well, but the Panthers beat CL 177-185.

"I was excited with our scores. Swanson has been struggling and really came through today," Hawkinson said. "Even though it was a loss, I was really pleased with captains Corradi and Tschida, who showed their leadership, and Liebsch, who is staying steady in the forties."

"We had a good round again at Victory Links. The meet was very close. This was one we really wanted and felt we had a chance. Irondale has been tough.

"This gives us motivation for the 18 hole conference meet on Thursday (May 17). We have been shooting low enough help us move up in the conference. We need to pull it together and play well when all the conference teams are together to make a difference," Hawkinson said.
