Chisago City Falloween bash becoming a popular tradition
Ribbons were awarded silently for the best, funniest and most original costumes. Brody Becker won the "Great Pumpkin" by guessing the correct weight of the giant pumpkin and took it home with him -- happy carving Brody!
Sunshine the Clown was under the weather so we want to thank Sandy Hoag for coming in last minute to face paint for us. The kids always look forward to that and she did a fabulous job. We hope you're feeling better Sunshine!
Children, parents and grandparents enjoyed the incredible magician and illusionist Karl Archilles. He kept the audience entertained for over a half hour. Not one child moved during his whole show. Thank you Karl and your staff. Thanks also go to the Chisago Lakes Area Chamber for support in sponsoring Karl's spooky magic show.
Hayrides were once again hosted by Amador Clydesdales and they always do a great job. The kids were lined up non-stop during the festival for rides.
Organizers would like to thank the following businesses for giving treats during the kiddie parade to our trick or treaters: The Roadhouse (formally Rocky J's), Family Dollar Store, Glyer Antiques, Wagon Wheel Café, Scooters and Chisago Drug. This seems to be one of the most anticipated parts of the festival and the businesses downtown always come through for the kids.
Thanks go to Mark and Tracy from "Just Ask Rental" in Chisago for always helping out on last minute needs and for always being so courteous even at their busiest times.
The Falloween Festival was a great success largely due to the volunteers who assisted in the decorating, set up and support on that day. Large thanks goes to: Mark, Michelle, Emily and Julie Ann Anderson, Dan Pierce, Girl Scout Troop #2233 and parents, and Zach and Dakota Zacho. From the staff side, thanks go to Chisago City Public Works Department, Chisago City Hall staff and the Chisago County Press for the creative ad.
