Family Pathways' series of Jail & Bail fundraisers finishes with successful event in Lindstrom
Gallery Bar & Grill housed the event, making room for prisoners and the phone center, where inmates raised "bail" through calls to donors.
Among many prominent residents-- Father Al Backmann, St. Bridget's Pastor, was a major bail contributor. His parishoners donating $8,255 towards his release. St. Bridget's has also consistently been a Family Pathways food shelf contributor with church youngsters collecting some 50 to 75 pounds of food items weekly.
Jail and Bail helped raise monies for Family Pathways at four locations this fall. Events took place at Gallery Bar & Grill, Cambridge Perkins, Famous Dave's in Forest Lake and Perkins of North Branch.
Those "jailed" are given notice in advance of their event date to speed things along, or by donating, donors could also arrange to have someone jailed. Volunteers were on hand to help track bail logs and make phone calls.
Local companies sponsoring this included Town and Country Disposal, Drive-In in Taylors Falls, Hallberg Marine and Plastic Products Inc. of Lindstrom. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Chisago County Chapter also was a contributor.
