Marcia M. (Palmquist) Ronnebaum died Oct. 29, 2007. God saw her getting tired, a cure not meant to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered "Marcia come with Me."

We lost a daughter, sister, aunt, friend, wife and a mother on that day.

Marcia was born Oct. 4, 1953, to James Palmquist and Doris McCormick. She was the oldest of six children. Marcia was born and raised in Rush City, Minn. As a child she spent most of her free time with her grandparents Glen and Helen Davis. Grandma's house was just down the road a little way from home. Grandma passed away in 1965 and grandpa passed away in 1970.

Marcia graduated from Rush City High School in 1971. After graduation she left home and her lifetime friends Linda Lindstrom and Theresa Furman moved to the Twin Cities. They were roommates for several years.

On Oct. 23, 1976, Marcia was united in marriage to Tim Ronnebaum at the Catholic Church in Rush City, Minn. They shared 31 years together. They had two children: son, Shawn and a daughter, Andrea. They made their home in Dayton, Minn., along the Mississippi River. Tim and Marcia went on many vacations. And on summer evenings they would invite the neighbors to join them on a pontoon ride.

She loved her home and enjoyed decorating. She liked to entertain family and friends there. She made a lot of crafts and jewelry for herself and others, and she loved to go shopping.

Marcia was employed the last 18 years at Washington Elementary as a para professional. She enjoyed her job and loved working with special needs children.

In April 2006 Marcia's life drastically changed when she was diagnosed with brain cancer and the next 18 months she tried all she could to fight the illness. She was a very brave and strong person. Her treatments were rough and she was uncertain about her future, but she never gave up. Brain cancer robs you of everything in your life. And, it's rough on everyone who loved her to watch all the changes she went through. May she rest in peace now.

Marcia is survived by her husband, Tim and children, Shawn and Andrea; mother-in-law Peggy Ronnebaum and immediate family: her mother, Doris McCormick, Lindstrom; and her siblings: Ricky (Jody) Palmquist, Missouri; Gary (Deb) Palmquist, Rush City; Janet Palmquist, Colorado; Craig Palmquist, Lindstrom; Susan Potter, North Branch and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Palmquist; grandparents from both sides and many uncles and aunts, and father-in-law, Bernie Ronnebaum.

Marcia will be sadly missed by everyone she knew. We will never forget her, she'll be loved forever within our hearts.

Services were Nov. 1, 2007, at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka, Minn. Marcia was cremated after her service.

Marcia is gone but her soul lives on, only in a better place surrounded by the light of God, in all His glory and grace.
