Central Lakes College Raiders (Brainerd) was defeated 39-18 by the undefeated (11-0) Rochester Community College Yellowjackets in the Minnesota Community College championship game Sunday, November 11 at St. Cloud State University.

North Branch 2007 graduates Justin Novak and Caleb Forstrom played for the Raiders. Novak, a wide receiver, led the Raiders with 10 catches for 83 yards. With his team trailing 13-6 at halftime, linebacker Forstrom gave the Raiders a chance to tie the game when he recovered a Rochester fumble on the opening kickoff of the second half. However, the first of four second-half Raider fumbles gave the ball back to Rochester.

"Both Caleb and Justin were integral parts of our program and great contributors this season," said CLC head coach Greg Medeck. "Caleb started at linebacker for us and was a very consistent player. He was the sixth leading tackler on our team. Justin was second on our team in receiving, behind Nate Schoenecker who broke the NJCAA receptions record. Justin has the ability to change a game with his quickness and explosiveness, something he did often for us this year. Both are great kids. We look forward to both being back next season."

The Raiders completed the season at 7-4. This was CLC's first appearance in the MCCC title game since 1991.
