David F. Marrone, age 55, of Lindstrom, Minn., passed away suddenly Saturday, November 24, while on a golf/business trip in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Born August 10, 1952, to Richard and Margaret (Egan) Marrone in Minneapolis, Dave was the second oldest of five. While young his family moved to Brooklyn Center.

Dave enjoyed playing many sports in his youth and later excelled as a member of the football and wrestling teams at Totino Grace High School. After high school he attended Hennepin Technical College and received a degree in powdered metallurgy. He worked in Florida and Chicago as a sales representative for several major manufacturing firms before returning to Minneapolis, where he met his wife who he was married to for 23 years.

Dave, wife Karen, and their sons Sam and Joe moved to Brooklyn Park in 1987 and to Lindstrom, Minn., in 1994.

In his free time, Dave enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and golf. As his boys got older, they were included in his sporting adventures. They enjoyed many memorable trips to northern Minnesota and Canada. In recent years Dave represented companies on the east and west coast, traveling around the country and in Europe.

Dave had a unique ability to connect with people and make them smile. His light-hearted jokes seemed to lift everyone's spirits. He was constantly helping someone in need. His compassion and charm earned him many friends and each one of them felt like Dave was their best friend, and he was.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard L.

He is survived by his wife Karen (Kinney), sons Samuel D. and Joseph M., mother Margaret, brothers: Richard J., Joseph J. and James M.; and sister Deborah J., along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation is at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, 4-8 p.m., Thursday, November 29. Service 11 a.m., Friday, November 30, at St. Bridget's of Sweden in Lindstrom.
