Viking soccer girls complete 'Cool & Clean' season
The highlight of the season for the Vikings, seeded 13th in the section playoffs, was their first round upset of fourth-seeded Grand Rapids. The Vikings showed clear improvement in their program this season. Last year's team allowed 56 more goals than they scored. This year's version of the Vikings closed the scoring gap to 32 goals.
"In addition to our improvement on the field," said Viking head coach Peter Grand, "the girls showed their exemplary commitment and attitude with an anti-drug pledge called "Cool & Clean." They also stood out academically with a 3.48 team GPA, and were runner-up in the North Suburban Conference. These are achievements that I consider to be of enormous importance."
