The Viking and Wildcat crosscountry teams ran against each other at the North Branch Golf Course Tuesday, October 9. In the unusual format, varsity and JV teams ran at the same time.

The Vikings won the boys' event by a 21-36 margin. The NB girls won by a score of 15 to 64.

Viking head coach Brian Hasleiet said, "All of our kids ran very relaxed and focused races tonight. I'm really excited about our conditioning and the overall health of our team going into the most important part of our season. The Conference Meet next week and the Section Meet the week after are why we've been working so hard all year and I really think our kids are in great shape to show what they can do in the next two weeks."

Both schools will compete in the Section 7AA Meet beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 25 in Elk River.
