He proudly served his country in the Korean War.
Sonny is preceded in death by his brothers: Roger and Dale; sisters: Doris, Lois and Janet; and parents, Frederick and Alexina Marie.
He is survived by sons: Gary (Caron), Greg (Denise); daughters: Sharon (Doug) Fairchild, Sue (Todd) Hewitt, Sandy (Bob) Cedergren; 13 grandchildren: Michelle, Matt, Mandy, Kari, Kevin, Tanya, Jacob, Breanna, Brett, Brandon, Nick, Kassi and Kailee and two great-grandchildren; brother, Richard and sister, Helen Servaty; former wife, Shirley and extended family.
Memorial Service is 11 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2007, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Gathering will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
