Jerry was born to Moody and Patsy Miller June 26, 1925, in St. Paul. He moved to Stacy when he was four years old. He had two sisters, Pat and Marcie.
He entered the Navy December 7, 1942. He was overseas during WWII (the Big One), and was discharged on January 24, 1946.
He married Marianne January 8, 1949. They had six children. He worked at Meldrum Manufacturing for about 40 years. He left for a few years to start Lakeside Sawmill with a friend, Vernon (Bud) Peterson.
Since retirement in 1989, Jerry's passion was his garden and yard. He enjoyed sharing stories and his handyman talents with the next generations. And he was always ready to dog sit for everyone's "farfels."
Gerald is survived by his wife, Marianne; children: Kathy (Jim) Nelson, Mark (Vic) Miller, Steve (Sandy) Miller, Douglas (Linda) Miller, Kristi (Troy) Nelson, and Nancy (Rod) Kreuser; 18 grandchildren: Rich, Randy, McKenzie, Lindsay, Ashley, Danny, Michael, Jaime, Joshua, Amanda, Paula, Crystal, Jeremy, Brittany, Alex, Madison, Olivia, Jackson "Rocky," and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral service was Friday, September 14, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Church, 31095 Genesis Avenue, Stacy. Interment at Stacy Cemetery.
