They opened the tournament with a 17-4 win over the Little Falls representative. The team was led by 3 hits and a sacrifice fly from Mike Levasseur, 3 hits and a home run to end the game in five innings by Brad Schneider, 3 hits from Eugene Hollister, and 2 hits from Ben Utech.
The next game was a 9-4 victory over the Rockville representative. The CJ's team was led by 3 hits from Brad Schneider and Dewey Hollister. In the third game, CJ's notched an 11-4 victory over the Princeton representative. The team was led by 3 hits from Eugene Hollister.
Game four was a tough, 11-10 loss to the Hackensack representative. Hackensack scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. The CJ's team was led by 4 hits from Brad Schneider, 3 hits by Mike Levasseur and Bob Levasseur, with a two-run triple.
They bounced back to beat the Brainerd 12-9, led by 3 hits from Pat Levasseur and Tim Bergquist. This assured them of fourth place in the 40-team tournament and a berth in the Class C National Softball Tournament.
They beat the Bemidji representative in the next game 7-6, led by 3 hits from Brad Schneider, and 3 RBI's from Glenn Carlson. This set up a rematch with the Hackensack team. But, no revenge could be had in a 12-3 loss. The team received excellent defensive play all weekend, led by Chad Hollister at shortstop, Kent Reed at second base and Kevin Schneider and Jeff Hollister in the outfield.
