Wildcat tennis loses matches to Tartan and BSM
1S Alyssa Lundberg lost 2-6, 3-6.
2S Kristen Dobosenski
lost 2-6, 1-6.
3S Kristen Lee won 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. Kristen lost the first set and really played with determination in the second set. That determination spurred her on to a three set win. Nice job Kristen.
4S Ali Turnquist lost 1-6, 2-6.
1D Tracy Schneider/Jess Olson lost 4-6, 6-0, 1-6. One doubles lost a close first set and then came out and blew Tartan off the courts in the second set. This evened the match with the third set to go. Tartan stepped it up and pulled out a three set victory.
2 Christina Leaf/Gretchen/Richter
won 6-1, 6-2.
Christina and Gretchen played really well in this match. It was awesome to see them win this match the way they did. They came out right away and got the lead and never looked back. Way to go!
3D Michelle Caneday/Alicia Ristow lost 5-7, 3-6.
Benilde-St. Margaret's 6, CL 1
The Wildcats lost at conference foe Benilde 6-1, Thursday, September 13.
"Benilde still proves to be a tough opponent," Otte commented. "The team decided to work on the basics for this match, which was to get serves in and get returns back into play. We succeeded in doing this. Although the score was not close, this easily could have been a 3-4 match."

1S Alyssa Lundberg lost 4-6, 4-6. Alyssa really played hard in this match. She was down and then up and then down again. She made her opponent change her tennis game to beat her and that says a lot. The coach from Benilde told Alyssa after the match that he would take her on his team anytime. That is a big compliment to her tennis game.
2S Kristen Dobosenski
lost 0-6, 1-6.
Kristen fought hard in this match. She just ended up losing to a better opponent on this day. Kristen tried a few different things during the last two games to help her improve for future matches. One of them was to move in on second serves and take the net.
3S Kristen Lee lost 2-6, 2-6.
4S Ali Turnquist won 6-4, 6-3.
Ali moved the ball around well and frustrated her opponent. Ali was one of the first matches to come off of the courts.
1D Tracy Schneider/Jess Olson lost 3-6, 4-6.
Tracy and Jess played a good match against Benilde. I would like to see these two get another chance at this team. I think the result would be a three set match that would come right down to the end. I'm not sure who the winner would be, but it would be fun to watch.
2Christina Leaf/Gretchen/Richter

3D Megan Corradi/Michelle Caneday lost 3-6, 6-1, 2-6. Megan and Michelle gave Benilde all they could handle. Benilde just happened to win a few of the bigger points in this match and that was the difference.
The Wildcats travel to Robbinsdale-Cooper Monday, September 24. They return home to entertain Fridley Tuesday, September 25 and North Branch Thursday, September 25. All three meets are scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
