Over 200 fifth grade students from Taylors Falls and Lakeside elementary schools had a wonderful time at their soon to be new school, the Chisago Lakes Middle School, Friday, March 28, while attending 5th Grade Fun Night.

Chisago Lakes fifth grade students are excited about their transition into sixth grade at the middle school next year.  The 5th Grade Fun Night event was organized and put on by the 'Our Schools Our Responsibility' (OSOR) group.

The students all enjoyed a fun time playing volleyball, basketball, relay games, bouncing on an air inflated bungee basketball game, football toss, bingo, karaoke, having their photos taken with their friends, having finger nails painted, doing arts and crafts, and enjoying pizza and snacks with their friends.  

All of these activities were enjoyed by students and made even more fun with the surprise appearance of many of their fifth grade teachers and their fun principals Warren Retzlaff (Lakeside) and Joe Thimm (Taylors Falls), who showed up to play games with the students!

OSOR would like to thank the many parents who volunteered to come and help at this event, without you this would not be possible! Also, a huge thank you is extended from OSOR to all of the fifth grade teachers at Lakeside and Taylors Falls Elementary Schools for supporting this event with communications to parents and selling tickets.

The 5th Grade Fun Night event is designed to allow this year's fifth grade students the chance to get inside of the middle school, meet some kids from the other elementary school, celebrate the completion of elementary school, and ease the transition into the new building for sixth grade this fall.
