The North Branch girls' basketball team ended its 2007-08 season with a banquet and awards program at Trinity Lutheran Church Monday, March 31.

During the program Team, Conference and State Awards were ditributed to the players. The team won the Section 3AAA Academic Championship. The 15 Varsity players averaged a 3.699 Grade Point Average (out of a possible 4.000).

Before the awards program Viking head coach Dan Schindler said, "I think our younger players learned a lot on the job this year and know what they have to do for next year. The experience they gained this year should really help us for next season. It was a fun season and we will work hard this off-season to get better. I am confident many of our players will be dedicated this summer and work hard to improve their skills.

"I have four seniors who I would really like to thank for a great four years. Kristen (Robatcek), Ashley (Johnson), Cori (Fairbanks), and Kristen (Kaminski) are super student/athletes and will be missed next year. I also would like to thank our school, parents, and community for their support all year," Schindler added.
