CLMS students advance to State History Day contest April 29
All seventh grade students at CLMS are required to complete a History Day project as part of the requirements for Social Studies.
The following students have advanced to the state competition April 29 at the University of Minnesota:
Jacqueline Vitali, Anika Hansen, John Hanson, Molly Sandstrom, Cecilia Strother, Jon Wawrzaszek, Joe Davis, Clara Linehan, Allison Gadbois, Madisen Vukich, Rebekah Zabel, Brianna Boland, Katrina Determan, Brittney Rivera, Bryanna Nelson, Megan Bertram, Joleigh Benson, Hannah Barrett, and Micah Brueske.
In addition to the state qualifiers, CLMS had a number of honorable mention awards for projects this year. Those who received Central Minnesota Regional History Honorable Mention awards were: Daniel Sargeant, Michael Serbus, Bradee Thompson, Caleb Stilp, Kayla Peterson, and Kristi Lundeen.
Approximately 25,000 students participate in History Day across the state of Minnesota. Only two projects from each category will advance
to the National Competition that is held each June in Washington, DC . Seventh grade American History teachers Katie Larson and Allen Schulte, along with media specialist, Mike Schoeneck are the supervising teachers for this program at Chisago Lakes Middle School.
