The Wildcat boys' basketball team closed its season with a banquet/awards program Monday, March 31. During the program, team, state and conference awards were distributed.

"This was truly an amazing group of young men who have been with us for the past four years," Wildcat head coach Herb Jangor said about the seven seniors on this year's team. "They made this year a season I'll cherish and remember because of those young men. They came through and showed a lot of intensity and character and a great work ethic.

"We could have had a disastrous season - until we put it all together and played with a spirit and enthusiasm for the game. After that, our last 12 or 15 games, we played the way teams in this program are accustomed to playing. The second half of the season, we really came alive. And, that was due to our seniors," the coach continued.

"I want to give special thanks to Taylor Jones for his hard work and leadership. All the seniors were great, but he was always there for us the last three years.

"We want to wish all seven of them the best of luck, knowing they'll all be successful in whatever they do. It's not often that you'll find so many good things to say about a 6-21 team. It's a tribute to their character. Hopefully they've passed the torch on to the next class. I'm confident they have," Jangor concluded.
