The Wildcat and Viking boys kicked off the 2008 golf season at Chisago Lakes Monday, April 15. CL tied for third and North Branch placed ninth among the 11 North Suburban Conference schools.

"It was a little windy out there. So, that balooned the scores a bit," said Wildcat head coach Perry Aadland. "It was the first time out on the course for many of them."

"My top three returning playerplayed pretty well. Aron's 39 was real nice score, considering the conditions," Aadland commented. "Our other golfers are capable of scoring better than they did last night."

According to North Branch head coach Tom Moriarty, it was very windy and the ground was quite wet. "I heard a lot of complaints about their putting. But, what did they expect. This was our first time on a course this year. I think we did well, considering. We're hoping for better each day," Moriarty said.

Both teams play at Pheasant Acres in Rogers in another NSC nine-hole meet Tuesday, April 22. Next up is an 18-hole NSC event at Bunker Hills Monday, April 28.
