Lloyd H. Peterson, 86, of Long Prairie, MN; August 31, 1921 - August 17, 2008. Funeral Service for Peterson was held at the American Lutheran Church in Long Prairie, Minnesota on August 21, 2008 with Rev. Bill Bakewicz officiating.

Peterson was born August 31, 1921 at North Oaks, Minnesota on the James J. Hill Farm where his parents were employed at the time. He was baptized on May 14, 1922 at the James J. Hill Farm, and was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church, Forest Lake, MN on July 12, 1936. He grew up on a farm near Forest Lake and attended and graduated from Forest Lake High School. Lloyd was a member of the basketball team while attending high school. He later farmed with his father on the family farm.

He married Doris Swenson on January 18, 1947 at Almelund, Minnesota. He purchased a milk route, where he picked up milk cans, and later expanded the business into two routes. Lloyd became interested in bowling for fun, which he did with his sister and her husband Lloyd, and four of his relatives. They got together every Saturday night to bowl for competition in the 1950's and early 1960's. He also joined a league in St. Croix Falls, WI and later in Lindstrom, MN. His brother-in-law was in the construction business, and his company built bowling lanes in Lindstrom. Lloyd and Doris lived in Chisago City from 1947 to 1951 and in Center City from 1951 to 1964. In March of 1964, he and Doris moved to Long Prairie and purchased Prairie Lanes. They ran the bowling alley until their retirement in 1984. Lloyd enjoyed lathe work, fishing, bowling, bird watching, yard work, and helping his neighbors.

Lloyd died and received the crown of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Savior August 17, 2008 at the age of 86.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Doris of Long Prairie; two sisters, Esther Peterson of Chisago City, and Catherine Hovland of Shoreview and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Hamilton, and brother, Carl Peterson.

Casketbearers were Paul Swenson, George Link, Wally Morgan, Frank Weaver, Richard Scott, and Leroy Oliver.
