Breakfast Club learns about newest health technologies
The November Breakfast Club at Chisago Lakes Middle School featured Joel Peltier, an electrical engineer with Medtronic, who was back by popular demand to speak about implantable pacemakers and defibrillators. Students learned how these devices function, their various medical uses, and advancements that have been made in this technology. Each month, the Breakfast Club features a different volunteer speaker who shares his or her expertise with a group of interested students. Upcoming Breakfast Club speakers include Jerome Djam in December, speaking about his childhood in Cameroon and cultural differences; and a legal panel in February consisting of Judge Robert Rancourt, County Attorney Janet Reiter, and attorney Peter Grundhoefer. Adults wishing to volunteer as a Breakfast Club speaker should contact Katie Kimlinger, Enrichment Volunteer Coordinator, at (651)213-2014 or [email protected]
