Beloved family member Edith A. (Nordeen) Anderson, resident of Margaret S. Parmly Residence, formerly of Center City, succumbed to pneumonia January 30, 2008. Edith was born in Sunrise, Minn., June 19, 1909.

She attended grades 1-9 in the one-room Sunrise School and excelled in writing poetry. She was a nanny in Duluth for two years.

On June 25, 1927 she married Carl Gustaf Raymond Anderson, in the church of Sunrise, Minn. Ray was a farmer from Oxford Township. In 1938, they moved to a beautiful farm in Shafer, and raised their three children.

Edith was 100 percent Swedish, her family originated from the southern Provinces of Småland and Blekinge. In 1990, she traveled with her daughter and granddaughter to Sweden to visit her Swedish relatives. Her life-long talent was writing poetry. She published a book of original poems titled "Leave A Little Music" and produced a calendar of her favorite poems. She was a member of the Midwest Chaparral of Poets Society. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, rug braiding, homemaking and baking (especially her gingersnap cookies).

She is preceded in death by parents, Arvid and Emily Nordeen; siblings: Walter Nordeen, Albert (Esther) Nordeen, Roger Nordeen and Hazel (Dennie) Magnuson; husband, Raymond Anderson; grandson, Jeff Barott; and son-in-law, Kenneth (Budd) Barott.

She is survived by her children: Lois Barott (Kenneth), Shafer; DiAnne Koester (Larry), Lindstrom; Gerald Anderson (Kelly), Townsend, MT.; her grandchildren: Jeff Barott/deceased (Cheryl), Scandia; Debra Peterson (Arden/deceased), Taylors Falls; Jan Pearson (Lee), Osceola, WI; Matt Barott, St. Paul; Sally Barott, Shafer; Kaye Weise (DeWayne), Center City; Michael Moeschter (Joyce), Scandia, Michelle McLean (Pat), Wyoming; Todd Anderson (Julie), Anchorage, Alaska; and honorary family member Barb Lindberg (Perry), Almelund. Edith had 21 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren; siblings: Edna Goranson, Shafer; Archie Nordeen (Jane) Isle; Kermit Nordeen (Gladys), Stillwater; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were at Chisago Lake Ev. Lutheran Church, Center City, February 5, 2008, with Pastor Craig Lundstad-Vogt officiating. Soloists were Lois Barott (daughter) and Kristine Weise (granddaughter). Marilyn Wahlstrom was pianist/organist. Pallbearers were Michael Moeschter, Todd Anderson, Larry Koester, Mike McLean, Luke McLean, Matt Barott, Lee Pearson, Chad Pearson, Shawn Pearson, DeWayne Weise, Tom Barott. Lunch was provided by the Chisago Lake Ev. Lutheran Church service group. Interment at Chisago Lake Ev. Lutheran Church Hillside Cemetery.
