Wildcats lose to hot-handed Cambridge team, fall to 1-5
The game was close for the first 11 minutes. But, Cambridge pulled away in the last seven minutes to take a 36-23 halftime lead. The Wildcats were unable to close the gap, never threatening in the Saturday afternoon contest.
"We came out flat and played flat," said Wildcat head coach Herb Jangor. "It was one step better than the St. Francis game. We played better on an off-night than we did against St. Francis.
"This is a team that lacks trust in themselves and each other. They need to transfer what they do in practice to the games. We still have a chance because we still have a good attitude. We have enough talent to start winning some games. I'm an optimist. Once we figure it out, we'll have a chance to succeed.
"Right now, at one and five, there's nothing there that we, as coaches and players, can hide. When the going gets tough, our character will come out. If we're made of what I think we're made of, we'll come back," the veteran Wildcat coach said confidently.
