The graphic above is just one example of how the new Hwy. 8 bridge in Lindstrom might look....there's a highway design open house Feb. 12 in the Lindstrom Community Center for the public to view drawings like this and a ton of other information developed over the last year by Minnesota Dept. of Transportation laying out the proposed highway rebuild.

Lindstrom City Administrator John Olinger said there will be various tables at the open house, staffed by people who can listen and answer your questions about this highway design, as well as financing the highway amenities and downtown redevelopment. Economic Development Authority design standards are being drafted for the downtown and there will be information on these. There's a segment of the Swedish Immigrant Trail being constructed as part of the bridge crossing at the Lindstrom Lake channel and there will be trail details for you to look over.

The open house is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12. The community center/city hall is at Akerson and Sylvan near Lion's Park.
