If you've got an RV or camper to live in and a few weeks this summer when you aren't doing anything-- the city of Lindstrom has a terrific opportunity for you to kick back and experience a leisurely stay, on the shores of Lindstrom Lake, at no cost.

The city is initiating a Park Host program this summer and fall and is seeking volunteers who can stay at Beach Park on South Lindstrom Lake to monitor activities, serve as a model parks user and do minor tasks like litter patrol.

Applications are being accepted. You should try to get your application in well ahead of when you'd like to be scheduled as a Park Host.

City Administrator John Olinger said the host's prime duty will be to be helpful to park visitors and be an extra set of eyes and ears at the park. The host will be prepared to answer about local shops, places to eat, recreational opportunties, etc. Volunteers will not be expected to handle any park use violations, but will be observant and let authorities know of any violations. A host should be available four to five days of any week they are camping at the park. The city staff will work out details with those interested. Lindstrom gives the park host a site to set up their motorhome, RV or camper and you get access to the lake (boat slip).

The program is scheduled to run through October.
