Loretta worked at the Floodwood Coop store in the early 1940s. In 1946, Loretta married Edward Wayne and they made their home in Floodwood until 1955 when they moved to Center City, MN.
She worked at Lindstrom Plastics Products as an electrical lead person. Loretta enjoyed attending and participating in numerous archery tournaments across the state with family and friends.
After retiring in 1985, Loretta and Edward moved back to Floodwood. Loretta enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables, working with crafts, and fishing the lakes and rivers in the area. As a Minnesota snow bird, she spent 23 winters in Mission, Texas.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edward; one brother, Louis Romanek; and two sisters, Rosalye Dube and Teresa Tyrell; and two great grandchildren, Collin Sean Wayne and Emelia Angelyn Wayne.
She is survived by her son, Elard (Mary) Wayne of Dry Ridge, KY; her daughter, Lenore (Brian) Greene of Shafer, MN; grandchildren, Sean (Amber) Wayne of Duluth; Travis (Erin) Wayne of Milwaukee, WI, Brandon Wayne of Dry Ridge, KY, Joe and Jason Greene both of Shafer, MN; great grandchildren, Nolan, Amaya, and Seth Wayne of Duluth, and Clara and Nathan Wayne of Milwaukee; three brothers, Adolph (Betty) Romanek of Floodwood, Herbert Romanek of Floodwood, Steve "Cubby" (Florence) Romanek of Cloquet.
Visitation: Noon-1 p.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, June 7, 2008, in St. Louis Catholic Church in Floodwood.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Van Buren Township.
