Emma Wilcox, 11, daughter of Juliann and Bradley Wilcox of Lindstrom, was the three state (MN and the Dakota's) regional winner of the 2008 American Immigration Lawyer Foundation, "Celebrate America" Writing Contest. As regional winner, Emma won $200 and two tickets to the Mall of America theme park. Emma interviewed Lilly Vodenka of Scandia about her families escape from Czechoslovakia, crossing the "Iron Curtain" to freedom in America. Emma's essay advanced to the National competition where she won honorable mention. Emma was also honored to be asked to present her story to her fifth grade class at Lakeside Intermediate School and at the American Immigration Lawyers Association's Annual Meeting held in Minneapolis June 10.
