Robert was born February 15, 1919 in Lakeland Township, Minnesota, to parents Fred and Minnie (Brink) Nelsen.
He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Minnie and his brother Harold.
He is survived by wife Jo Margery; children Richard (Judy), Jane (Donald) Utech, and Joan (Don) Gunderson; grandchildren Ryan (Susan), Richelle (Aaron), Denise (Eric), Stacy (Ryan), David, and Ellen; great-grandchildren Patrick, Luke, Megan, Amber, Madison, Beau, Logan, and two more on the way, also sister Helen (Doug) Drilling; sister-in-law Jackie Nelsen.
Memorial Services were Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom.
Interment at Fairview Cemetery in Lindstrom.
Grandstrand Funeral Home handled arrangements.
