Enrichment workshops challenge elementary students

Chisago Lakes elementary students are benefiting from the kindness of volunteers who are teaching Enrichment Workshops at our schools. These workshops provide additional challenge to students showing a high ability or talent in a particular subject matter.

At Taylors Falls, artist Michelle Dietz is working with a small group of young artists to explore drawing, acrylic, and watercolor techniques. At Lakeside, biologist Marcia Hathaway is leading two groups of fourth graders in a variety of science experiments. At Primary School, Tammy Kerr is facilitating a creative writing workshop for a small group of second grade students.

If you would like to help our high achieving students explore a particular topic or subject matter more intensely by teaching an Enrichment Workshop, please contact Katie Kimlinger, Enrichment Volunteer Coordinator, at (651)213-2014 or [email protected]. Volunteers meet weekly with a small group of students for 45 minutes during the school day, for a series of 4-6 weeks.
