"Megan Corradi showed her senior leadership on the course," said Wildcat head coach Jeanne Hawkinson. "She's hitting the ball well, but struggling with her putting. A lot of putting is confidence, and we just haven't had much time to get that level of confidence up.
"Liebsch stayed steady with a 51. She and I both felt she should have been in the forties. But I know she'll be shooting consistently in the forties soon. Sadie (Williamson), who was playing number six after struggling at North Branch, came back with a great 53. She has shown a lot of improvement in the last two years," the coach continued. "Both Melissa and Sam came in with 55's, which rounded off our team score of 205. And Krista Swanson shot a 56, with two holes holding her back from a great round."
"Our goal is to be below 200 in the nine-hole meets, which we haven't accomplished yet. We are close and have the talent to be there, but, without the chances to get out and practice, we've been just shy of our goal. It's a tough sport to play with only two months to get it all done. If the weather doesn't cooperate, it really takes a toll on our game," Hawkinson concluded.
The Wildcats travel to Theodore Wirth in Minneapolis for an NSC meet Friday, May 2 before competing in the Forest Lake Invitational Monday, May 5.
North Branch Girls
After coming in last of nine in their first meet of the season, the Viking girl golfers moved up one place in the second North Suburban Conference meet. North Branch totalled 240 strokes at Majestic Oaks Wednesday, April 23 to finish eighth.

"We cut 18 strokes," said Viking assistant coach Kelli Perrault, referring to the team's score compared to the 258 the Vikings shot in their initial outing at North Branch. "It helped that we had six golfers this time. At home last week Cassedy Coleman got sick and we ended up playing with five scores.
"It also made made a big difference that Emily (Juve) had a lot better night. She started out with a couple of big holes last week before she settled down. She got off to a much better start this time. Laurel Dresel had a pretty good night, too. We'll be depending on the two of them to continue to improve," Perrault added.
Number one golfer Katie Foley stumbled a bit with a 56 after shooting a 48 on the Vike's home track. "She didn't play poorly, but sometimes that happens with golf. Sometimes the putts fall and sometimes they don't," Perrault commented. "Cassedy (Coleman) was pretty excited to have scored well. It was her first varsity meet and she did a nice job."
