The following students represented Chisago Lakes Middle School at the State History Day competition on April 27: Jacqueline Vitali, Anika Hansen, John Hanson, Molly Sandstrom, Cecilia Strother, Jon Wawrzaszek, Joe Davis, Clara Linehan, Madisen Vukich, Brianna Boland, Katrina Determan, Brittney Rivera, Bryanna Nelson, Megan Bertram, Joleigh Benson and Hannah Barrett. Out of the nearly 30,000 students who compete statewide in History Day, four CLMS students were presented with awards at this year's ceremony: Hannah Barrett (State History Day Honorable mention) for her website entitled The March on Washington, Joleigh Benson and Megan Bertram (3rd place in the state) for their website entitled Love Canal Contaminated Lives - Contaminated Souls, and Clara Linehan (3rd place in the state) for her live performance entitled "Wave Your Red Kerchief Goodbye."
