NB struggled on the difficult west nine while totalling 175 strokes. That put the Vikes eighth of 11 midway through the day. They came back strong on the east side. Their 159 put them just four strokes behind Benilde and earning them a third place on the second nine.
"The 159 was an outstanding score," said Viking mentor Tom Moriarty, "especially when considering the weather conditions."
Eighth grader Jared Houle continued to improve in leading the Vikings with an 83. His round was highlighted by a dramatic 60 foot birdie putt on the ninth (east) hole.
