Local FFA members take part in horse career development event
Team members Katy Garbe, Cari Gomer, Alexi Schaapveld and Jessica Schultz traveled to the competition, along with their FFA Advisor, Jeff Lindeman.
Participants in the event were asked to evaluate eight classes of horses composed of performance events or halter classes. Competitors gave oral reasons for their selections.
The National FFA Horse Evaluation CDE is sponsored by Dodge Trucks, Kent Feeds, Inc and Tractor Supply Company, Inc as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. It is one of 23 different national events that use the fun of competition to connect classroom learning and careers.
FFA is a national youth organization of 507,763 student members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture with 7,439 local chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
