The Chisago Lakes High School FFA Chapter was one of eight teams participating in the 2008 National FFA Horse Career Development event Oct. 22-25, during the 81st National FFA Convention in Indiana.

Team members Katy Garbe, Cari Gomer, Alexi Schaapveld and Jessica Schultz traveled to the competition, along with their FFA Advisor, Jeff Lindeman.

Participants in the event were asked to evaluate eight classes of horses composed of performance events or halter classes. Competitors gave oral reasons for their selections.

The National FFA Horse Evaluation CDE is sponsored by Dodge Trucks, Kent Feeds, Inc and Tractor Supply Company, Inc as a special project of the National FFA Foundation. It is one of 23 different national events that use the fun of competition to connect classroom learning and careers.
