Staff members have named Brian Lawman and Emily Scheid Students of the Month based on their commitment to exceptional schoolwork this fall. These students will receive a certificate and trophy for their achievement.
Emily Scheid returned to TRIO Wolf Creek this year determined to complete her diploma. She has worked hard on five classes, will pass them all, and has worked full-time until recently at Sven's. "Emily's work is well thought out and accurate," explains Stacy Bender, Emily's Learning Manager. She continues, "Her creative side shows as well in classes such as Poetry." Her hard work sets a great example for TRIO Wolf Creek students.
"It is with great pride that I nominate Brian Lawman for October's Student of the Month," exclaims Kelly Vilson, Brian's Learning Manager. Brian is taking a heavy class load this year because he is determined to graduate in June. He knows that a diploma from TWC will give him more opportunities after graduation. Although Brian works two jobs, his determination and dedication to school work have ensured his success with online learning.
Kelly continues, "I am pleased to say that Brian spends at least 25 hours a week on school work (if not more) and is in constant communication with me. He asks questions because he wants to know the answers, even if the assignment is already complete."
TRIO Wolf Creek Distance Learning Charter School has Continuous Learning Year status from the Minnesota Department of Education. Students are able to complete course work throughout the year. Please visit our website for more information: www.triowolfcreek.com.
