He was born October 18, 1931 in Taylors Falls to Wilbur and Jeanette (Schipper) Dibble. He was raised in the Taylors Falls area and attended schools there graduating in 1949. After high school Pete went to work farming and later hauling milk for Dibble Trucking. In 1968 he started working for Murphy Rigging and Erecting Co. in Minneapolis as a rigging foreman. He spent 25 years there retiring in 1993. He married Janet M. Boucher at Ascension Lutheran Church in St. Paul on February 16, 1957. He and Janet celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year.
He loved horseback riding, cooking maple syrup, snowmobiling, cutting wood on his farm. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play their high school sporting events and also spending time with his morning coffee group.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Thomas (Debra) of Taylors Falls; daughter, Patricia (Eric) Young of Eden Prairie and his six grandchildren, Stephanie and James Kalkes; Danielle and Isaac Dibble; Brian and William Young. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, James.
Funeral services on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 from Taylors Falls United Methodist Church with Rev. Rollie Robinson officiating. Music by Dean Roush and Myrna Westen. Casketbearers were his six grandchildren. Visitation Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom and one hour prior to service at church on the day of the service. Interment at Kahbakong Cemetery at Taylors Falls. Arrangements were under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom.
