On Saturday, Oct. 4, the George Haun award was given out by the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association.

Dave Johnson (right), President and Don Tangen (left), Vice President, presented the award to North Branch Activities Director Becky Leuer (middle).

"It was an honor to receive this award from the coaches association. The North Branch Area School District has been very supportive throughout my career and that allowed me to take advantage of many opportunities to be involved," Leuer said of the honor.

The 33-year veteran of North Branch schools spent 25 years as a teacher and a coach of the North Branch volleyball team, earning section coach of the year in 1992, '93 and '94.

In 2000, she became the high school's Activites Director and has since won the 2006 Marie Berg Award.
