Staff members have named Jamie Hawkins and Julie Owens as Students of the Month based on their commitment to exceptional schoolwork this fall. These students will receive a certificate and trophy for their achievement.
Jamie has shown this year that she has fully grasped how to be a successful online learner. She attends lab at TRIO for at least five hours each week and is on track in all of her classes.
"She is a very intelligent and thoughtful individual, who is a pleasure to be around," explained Lindsay Jarombek, Jamie's Learning Manager. "Jamie has demonstrated that she is determined to do well at Wolf Creek, and she is clearly reaching that goal."
Julie Owens has been completing schoolwork since her Individual Graduation Plan meeting, before school officially began. Each week she is putting in the full 25 hours of expected time dedicated to school, sends weekly update emails and attends lab regularly. Julie's goal is to finish her classes early and graduate after quarter one.
Cassie Gaede, Julie's Learning Manager, shares why she nominated Julie, "She is on track and is a pleasure in lab. She has even taken the time to assist other new students sitting next to her in lab. Julie is the most organized student I have! She is a great example of a successful TRIO Wolf Creek Student."
TRIO Wolf Creek Distance Learning Charter School has Continuous Learning Year status from the Minnesota Department of Education. Students are able to complete course work throughout the year. Please visit our website for more information: www.triowolfcreek.com. Congratulations Jamie and Julie!
