John E. Peterson, of Lindstrom, passed away October 20, 2008 at the age of 65.

John graduated from Chisago Lakes High School. John entered into the Air Force after graduation and spent two years working with fire trucks. Upon being discharged John then moved to Lindstrom and joined the fire department for 22 years. He was a member of Lindstrom City Council for 16 years. The family owned and operated a cleaning business for several years. John retired from Polaris in 2005.

John enjoyed the outdoors, animals, and spending time with family and especially his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents Floyd and Fern; granddaughter Savanna. Survived by daughters Alissa (John) Edstrom and Jennifer (David) Henthorn; grandchildren Bailey, Brooke, Gabrielle, John, and Addyson; fiancé and best friend Marlene Lindgren; sisters and brothers Diane, Donna (Rick), Karlin (Cindy), and Gary (Anne) and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Service 11 a.m. Friday, October 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Grandstrand Funeral Home, Lindstrom and also one hour prior to service at church on Friday. Burial Fairview Cemetery.
